The Rotary Run for Life is coming up in Stony Plain on Sunday, Sept. 14.
During our Aug. 14 meeting, members Julie Lilienskold and Meryl Murray spoke to the power of the event and the impact it has in the community, particularly for those who have lost someone to suicide. For sponsorship opportunities, contact Julie or Meryl.
There are a number of ways you can help out:

  1. Join Thomas Miller in the 5K race! I’ll buy a beer for any Rotarian who beats me! And you can support my fundraising campaign by clicking here.
  2. Volunteer on race day. They need a great deal of people for all sorts of jobs, such as: traffic control, registration, bag stuffing, set-up, clean-up, water station and package pick-up.
  3. Drink a beer at Original Joe’s in Stony Plain. For every Shock Top beer sold until race day, OJ’s is donating part of the proceeds to the Rotary Run for Life. It’s not much (I think $0.50), but every little bit helps, and those beers are tasty, too!
  4. Rotarian Lyle Huston isn’t able to participate this year but he said he would once again match all donations to his fundraising campaign. So please give generously! Contact Lyle to help out his campaign.
